We process your personal data for specific purposes and rely on certain conditions for processing this data. Here is an overview of why we process your personal data and the legal basis for doing so:

Marketing Communications: We use your personal data to send you marketing communications about our products and services. This helps us keep you informed about our latest offerings and developments.

Audience Insights: By understanding our audience, we can tailor our marketing efforts to better meet your needs. This involves analysing audience interactions and preferences to improve our marketing strategies and product offerings.

Market Research: Conducting market research allows us to gather insights into market trends, customer satisfaction, and potential areas for product or service development. This helps us stay competitive and responsive to customer needs.

Your personal data is crucial for our marketing activities, including sending email updates to customers and prospects who have shown interest in our products. We aim to provide you with relevant information and services that match your interests and needs. We also use this data to refine our marketing strategies and conduct market research to better understand and serve our audience.

Every marketing email from NVC includes an ‘unsubscribe’ link, allowing you to stop receiving such communications with immediate effect. It’s important to note that opting out of marketing communications does not affect your receipt of other important communications from us, which may be necessary or of interest to you based on our legitimate interests.

How do we use personal data?

We utilize your personal data primarily based on the following grounds:

Legitimate Interests: We process your data when it's necessary for the pursuit of our legitimate business interests or those of a third party, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests. This approach allows us to provide services, improve our offerings, and communicate effectively, ensuring benefits for both our customers and our business without compromising your privacy or rights.

Consent: In situations where specific consent is needed, we process your personal data only after obtaining your explicit approval for a distinct purpose.

It's important to clarify that we do not predominantly depend on consent as the legal basis for processing personal data across our operations. This is particularly relevant in contexts where processing is essential for us to carry out our legitimate business activities, except in cases where our activities are superseded by your data protection interests or fundamental rights and freedoms.

Regarding marketing communications, while consent is a key factor, please be aware that you possess the right to withdraw this consent at any moment. Withdrawal is made simple and straightforward by clicking the 'unsubscribe' link located at the bottom of our marketing emails.

Legal Basis to Process Your Personal Data

Under the applicable data protection laws, we need a legal basis to collect and use your Personal Data of which there are six legal bases to process an individual’s Personal Data.

Depending on the processing activity, we rely on the following legal basis for processing your Personal Data under the UK GDPR:

  • Article 6(1)(d) in order to protect your vital interests or those of another person.
  • Article 6(1)(f) for the purposes of our legitimate interest.

Where we process your Personal Data under the lawful basis of Article 6(1)(f) for the purposes of our legitimate interest we document Legitimate Interest Assessments which are regularly reviewed. For example, we process Personal Data in our business database under our legitimate interests for which we have undertaken a Legitimate Interest Assessment.

We do not process Personal Data under the lawful basis of Article 6(1)(a) data subject consent currently (where the consent has freely given permission for us to process their Personal Data for one or more processing activities and for which their consent-withdrawal can be made at any time).
